Silent Acheiver is on track for a defence of her Gr. 1 Ranvet Stakes title following her strong run in the Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm last Saturday.
The six-year-old daughter of O’Reilly found the line well to finish fourth in the Group One 1600-metre event, crossing the line just over a length behind the winner Contributer. Her trainer and jockey were more than satisfied with the performance.
“She ran well and just found the sharp mile a bit quick for her around here,” Kerrin McEvoy told Racenet on Saturday. “But she was nice on the line and she’s in good order for 10 furlongs.”
Those feelings were echoed by Roger James, who confirmed to www.theinformant.co.nz this afternoon that the Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill on March 21 would be her next appearance. Her victory in the race last year came at the expense of Carlton House and Dundeel and was her first Australian Group One win.
“I was very happy with her run in the Chipping Norton on Saturday, she’s pulled up in good order and she seems to be very well,” James said. “She’s got three weeks now until the Ranvet.”
