Cambridge trainer Roger James has claimed back-to-back Ellerslie Trainer of the Year titles when he was named Auckland Racing Club’s champion Trainer for the 2012-13 season, which is based on the best strike rate of any trainer who lines up more than 30 individual runners throughout the year.
Ellerslie, New Zealand's premier thoroughbred racing venue, has always proven a happy hunting ground for James, who has saddled up 14 Group One winners there, including five New Zealand Derby's.
