An opening four straight wins were bagged in quick time by Opie Bosson at Pukekohe Park today which put an exclamation mark on his jockeys’ premiership title chances.
The Roger James-trained Duchessofcambridge opened Bosson’s account in impressive fashion when winning by four and a quarter lengths. The Lucky Unicorn filly had been finishing her races strongly and got her maiden win in style.
After kicking home One Cool Message and Secret Power, Bosson’s streak continued aboard another James-trained runner, Royal Tiger. Having won two trials, expectations were high and the son of Thorn Park delivered on debut.
“He’s a horse that’s shown above average ability. I thought he would win,” commented James. “I said to Opie before he got on that he should win”
Bosson was likewise pleased with the two and a quarter-length victory. “He’s a really nice horse, definitely a Saturday grade type. I’m rapt with how things are going so far,” he reflected
