Remarkable Run Fresh 12/9/2011

Quality entire He’s Remarkable made an outstanding start to his four-year-old season when he strolled away from a small but select field in a Rating 90 1400m race at Ruakaka on Saturday, in the manner of a horse destined to make a name in elite company.

At three, He’s Remarkable showed glimpses of brilliance, including a barnstorming victory on debut at Taupo last September, and more significantly an eye-catching second in the Group One 2000 Guineas behind Jimmy Choux.

Following an encouraging run for sixth in the Group One Rosehill Guineas (also behind Jimmy Choux), He’s Remarkable suffered a heart fibrillation in the Group One AJC Derby, and returned home to spell.

As to an on-going plan for He’s Remarkable, James said, “I looked at his form, and scratched my head a lot, as his best form was around a mile but I do believe he is a staying horse”, but suggested the Coupland’s Mile (G2, 1600m) at Riccarton on 9 November would be an ideal target for He’s Remarkable at this stage.
